Teams hire me for one reason.

Strategy
through craft.

  1. I design for outcomes, not portfolios. Most of my work is measured in % and $.
  2. I bring growth thinking to design. Funnels, CRO, and experimentation. Not just pixels.
  3. I care about the craft. Typography, motion, and polish are not afterthoughts.
  4. I partner cross-functionally from day one. Product, marketing, copy, and engineering.

Most recently Senior UX & Growth Designer at Tuff Growth. Building Petal on the side. Open to senior IC roles at companies that move fast and still care about craft.

I'm a Senior UX & Growth Designer based in Chicago, seven years deep in product, growth, and CRO. I lead design end-to-end on complex digital products: research, framing, prototyping, design systems, and delivery. The work has to ship and work for real people, not just look polished in a Figma file.

I'm good with messy, unclear problems. The kind where the brief is half-written and people don't fully agree yet. I find direction with both user needs and business goals on the table, and I partner closely with product, marketing, and engineering from framing through launch.

Most recently Senior UX & Growth Designer at Tuff Growth, a growth design agency, where I led conversion-focused redesigns for entertainment, ecommerce, B2B SaaS, and a national nonprofit. Building Petal on the side: an AI CRO audit tool that scores landing pages in 20 minutes instead of 20 hours. I'm bullish on AI in the design process and excited to bring it into real production work.

A stack of Arturo's eyeglasses collected over the years. A small archive of frames he's worn.

01

Start with the business outcome. Work backwards to the user.

02

Design is a growth lever, not decoration. Otherwise it's homework.

03

Strong opinions, loosely held. Show the data, ship, iterate.

04

Cross-functional from the start. Design alone doesn't move a number.

Vintage tees, watching soccer (probably more than I should), and traveling whenever the calendar allows. Most of my best ideas show up away from the desk.

The tees are a long love of graphic design history and the stories people end up wearing on their chest. The soccer is mostly Premier League, with a fair amount of yelling at the TV. Traveling is the part that keeps the work honest. Stepping out of my own context tends to make whatever I bring back sharper.

Outside of all that, I'm the kind of person who'll spend an hour debating typography choices and another arguing a referee's call. I think both kinds of detail matter.
